Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club Description
The only local "castle" that welcomes wee ones, Cranwell is a bona fide vacation destination in itself, with sprawling grounds and pool. True, kids can't actually stay in the mansion (couples only), but a sumptuous breakfast there, amid the fairytale décor and the beautiful views, is royal enough. The family accommodations in the outlying buildings are fit for a king.
Planning Notes
- Families welcome. There are no actual kids' programs, but unlike some other vintage properties in the area, families will truly feel at home. The restaurants even have a children's menu.
- Off-peak savings. Come midweek when rates are considerably lower than weekends, and there's often no minimum night's stay.
- Home suite home. Ask about suites with kitchens. They cost a little more, but the upside is the savings on restaurant bills.
- Teen treatments. Kids age 16 and up can enjoy the on-site spa's specialized "Teen Treatments," including massages and facials.
