Bar Harbor Motel Description
It's not the swankiest spot in town, but the warm service and family environment make this motel a good base camp. It abuts Acadia National Park, so families with older kids can start their biking adventures right from the grounds, and active parents can easily sneak in a jog on the trails. Though not quite within walking distance to town, the Island Explorer bus makes frequent stops. And it has the amenity that's most important to kids: a clean, roomy, and warm pool.
Planning Notes
- Reserve a two-bedroom family unit. It sleeps up to six, with the all-important door between rooms.
- Bring beach towels. Pool towels are provided but they're on the small side (you'll want the bigger ones for Sand Beach and Echo Lake, too).
- Stock your mini-fridge yourself. Having snacks and drinks at the read will cut down on trips into town.
- Closed in cold weather. The Bar Harbor Motel is open seasonally from early May to late October.
