Coeur d'Alene Resort Description
This lush, landmark hotel on the lakeshore offers plenty of enticements, from luscious, salad-plate sized cinnamon rolls and huge desserts nicknamed "Gooeys" to stunning views and private balconies. Generous accommodations include a sitting area, large bathrooms with separate double sinks, and plenty of storage space. The resort's top-notch spa is a must-do, offering gentleman's shaves and "mommy and me" treatments.
Planning Notes
- View finder. Ask for a room in the tower to ensure best views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
- Curtain call. The most fun for kids, besides the huge, salad-plate sized cinnamon rolls or luscious "Gooeys" — gigantic desserts (both served up in the Dockside restaurant) may just be the remote control for the room-darkening drapes. Don't say we didn't warn you!
- Light show. During summer, it is almost 10 p.m. before the sun sets — and it's back up bright and early, so be sure to adjust the schedule if possible and take advantage of those blackout curtains
- Ahh, spa. Planning on spa-ing? Be sure to book three to five days out during the off-season and at least two weeks in advance during the busy holiday and summer seasons or for Saturday appointments.
