Hilton Waikoloa Village Description
"This may be the best hotel in the whole world," said one 8-year-old as she rode the monorail to a spacious suite overlooking the ocean surrounded by tropical plants and palm trees. A resort with 1,240 rooms on 62 acres, Hilton Waikoloa Village has everything from a 175-foot waterslide to a resident flock of Hawaii's endangered nene gueese. Here you'll also find shopping, live entertainments, several restaurants, a spa with children's treatments, day and evening camps, and a Dolphin Quest.
Planning Notes
- Reserve online. You can find package deals and discounts:
- Expect sticker shock. Though the game rooms, pools (with towels), and boat rides are included, there is a charge for almost everything else. Expect to pay extra for pool toys, in-room coffee, shuttle service to shopping in Waikoloa, Internet access, strollers, cribs, and organized activities.
- Don't miss the Kona Pool. The best pool on the property for families, one part has a sand bottom (for babies and toddlers), there are 25-foot waterfalls and caves to explore, and here's where you'll find the waterslide.
- Go for a walk. There's a half-mile walking trail along the shoreline on white coral and black sand lava that leads to Anaehoomalu Bay that you shouldn't miss.
- Bring a day pack. This resort is vast and your room might be more than a mile away so you aren't going to want to dash back to grab your sunglasses. Take a stocked day pack with you with sun supplies, water, and anything else your family might need.
