Planter's Inn Description
This lovely hotel in the heart of Savannah's historic district is within walking distance to the river front and many Savannah attractions, and less than a mile from Forsyth Park. The complimentary breakfast on the mezzanine offers fresh fruit and other healthy options, and there's a lovely wine and cheese hour every evening in the lobby from 5:30 to 7:30 with live piano music. Apples await at the check-in counter. The only drawback for families is that there's no pool, but you can use a nearby health center with a Jacuzzi free of charge.

Planning Notes
- Getting there. The information desk at the airport can tell you the best way to drive to the Planter's Inn, or you can get directions off the inn's off the inn's Web site.
- Make a room request. The best rooms are the ones overlooking the park, with a large balcony.
- There IS Internet access. This is such an historic inn, with four-poster beds and the like, that you wouldn't necessarily expect Internet access. But they have it.
- Ask for the ramp. Ask the bellboys to put a wooden ramp in the entryway if you're coming with a stroller or wheelchair.
