Reviews of Disney's Polynesian Resort
Beautiful but costly

What we loved:
Gorgeous landscaping
What we didn't love:
Service, dirty carpets
I was very excited about our stay at a deluxe resort. I thought that the service would be fantastic. The only 2 helpful & smiling people were the guy who unloaded our bags from the car and one of the ladies in the fast food cafe. We checked in early and we were told we would be notified when our room was ready....never happened. All we got was a "sorry about that". Next time we contact the front desk was for the crib and microwave that were not in our room at 11pm that night. The guy who brought them looked like we really bothered him. The 3rd time I called the front desk was about my tickets for the luau. I had forgotten to pick them up at check in. I asked if I had to pick them up at the front desk or if I could get them down at the luau because I was running late. She informed me that I HAD to pick them up at the front desk and that I should have already been in line. When I arrived at the front desk and waited for my turn to be helped I was told that the computer had "just crashed" and that I would need to pick them up after I checked in at the luau. Yeah....they have a whole area to check you in and give you your tickets at the luau. The last night we were there we sat on the beach to watch the fireworks---great view!!!---we were eaten alive by ?sand fleas?. Try bug spray---it was almost worth it : The room was good sized and we had a great view and balcony. We did have a room beside the elevator but it wasnt too bad. The carpet in the hall was nasty the carpet in the room not great especially to have had a crawler. Overall--not worth our money, very disappointed with the service, but very scenic. Read More
Beautiful and Peaceful

What we loved:
Everything! Scenery,location,staff..
What we didn't love:
Nothing. Everything was great.
My husband and I stayed here for our birthday because we had never tried this hotel before. We usually stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I am SO glad we decided to give this one a try! The grounds are beautiful, the staff was fantastic, even for Disney standards, and you cannot beat the location. Having the option of riding the bus, boat, or monorail was great. Rding the boat back to the hotel after a day at the Magic Kingdom was awesome and very relaxing. And then being able to sit on the beach and watch the fireworks...wow! The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Most have great views of the beautiful gardens or of the castle. We cannot wait to go back in September!! Read More
Love the Polynesian!

What we loved:
On the monorail, the beaches and views, relaxing atmosphere
What we didn't love:
Dimly lit rooms, no hot tub but barely noticed that!
The Polynesian is a great hotel! While it can be pricey, it is worth it when you zoom on the monorail to Magic Kingdom, walk over to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail, and have your own relaxing view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. This hotel really has you relaxed when you come back during the day between parks and is just gorgeous at night! My husband and I enjoy sitting on the beach watching the pageant and the firworks while the kids can play in the sand. We also love the restaurants here. And the tropical drinks, whether at the pool or enjoying the lounge in the evening, are scrumptous and scream vacation! I love staying at all the Disney hotels but this one has that extra special touch that my family enjoys. My children enjoy this hotel but honestly, what child doesnt enjoy any of the Disney hotels?? The bonus for the parents at this hotel though is that you are on the monorail line and that really helps when you have younger children babies to young school age children. The younger children especially enjoy the magic of the monorail and it is one of the easiest forms of travel when you have strollers, want a closer drop off point, and very little wait times compared to the buses. This resort really made an impression on us! Aloha! Read More
