Kidani - DVC studio
By holdemansc August 20, 2011 | Son: Age 11, Daughter: Age 13
What we loved:
The Savannah all around
What we didn't love:
Long hallways and dark rooms
Kidani Village is beautiful with a fun pool and splash area and marshmallow roasting out by the pool in the evenings. The Savannah always has something to see, and the large windows periodically along the hallways gives a nice break in the LONG walk to our room. We stayed in a studio only 2 of us on this trip which was about the right size for us, but if we visit again as a family of 4 Ill stay in a 1-bdrm. The Studio felt a little tight once we pulled out the sofa bed -- where to put the cushions? and the decorative pillows from the bed? This resort is best for those who really are going to relax and spend time in their room, or more importantly -- on the balcony overlooking the Savannah. It is relaxing to sit there and observe the animals, but for a longer trip where we would be hitting the parks more it wouldnt have been worth it. Its a beautiful hotel, but not close enough to "The Magic" for my tastes. Our next DVC trip will be at a resort closer to the center of it all. Read More
Kidani Villas

What we loved:
HUGE 2 Bedroom Villas
What we didn't love:
Poor Lighting in the Villa
We stayed for a week at Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. We had a two bedroom villa. It is HUGE! Full kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, washer and dryer this villa sleeps 9. We enjoyed everything about this Disney Vacation Club Resort. We did not take the time to dine here, it was in our plans but, when the day came we ended up staying at the parks verses coming back for dinner. The only thing you need to keep in mind with this resort is that it is further away from the parks then most resorts. You need to keep this in mind when planning your days and travel time on the buses. The other thing I want to mention is yes, the room are beautifully decorated in a African feel but, the rooms are dark and lighting is poor. Read More
Adventurous Location

What we loved:
The decor was tremendous! So much to look at and do.
What we didn't love:
There was a lot of walking. Resort so spread out.
From the moment you check in you get the feel of being in Africa. The lobby is decorated wonderfully. The theme continues into the guest rooms. You are surrounded by art and pictures of Africa. And if you want to see animals all you have to do is look out your window. From morning til night there is some kind of surprise awaiting you outside. Friendly faces are everywhere. From the mousekeepers to the groundskeepers a smile and friendly greeting await. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for some adventure on their vacation. Read More
