Fontainebleau Miami Beach Description
Miami's famed Fontainebleau has always been at the forefront of family entertainment: it once housed South Florida's first ice skating rink, and until recently featured numerous kids' water slides. So it's not surprising that the 1954-era hotel's nearly completed $1-billion renovation includes a large kids' water play area and a huge kid-friendly pool. The completely redone hotel, featuring more than 1,500 rooms in two ocean- and Intracoastal-view towers in addition to the main building, is expected to open mid-summer. Until then, families staying here can take advantage of the hotel's smaller pool, and of what has always made the Fontainebleau an ideal family destination: its 22 acres of gorgeous beachfront and prime Miami Beach location.
