Islander Resort Description
When the Islander remodeled a few years ago, they left nothing standing but the building walls and the old-fashioned front sign. The remodeled rooms, while still small (if you're a large family, opt for the villas), are nice, and all have large screened-in front porches. But it's the grounds that make this such a great resort for families: the broad ocean view with a fabulous over-the-water sunrise (as with most of the Keys, the sand is rocky and the water full of seagrass), two swimming pools, lying hammocks, a lighted pier, and charcoal grills so you can cook up fun, inexpensive family suppers.
