Renaissance Chancery Court Description

This 357-room luxury hotel is both elegant and family-friendly. On arrival children get a "duck passport," as well as an activity book and pencils, then they race around the hotel telling jokes and giving firm handshakes in order to have the passport stamped. Rubber duckies and kid-sized slippers await in the room and everyone — from the concierge to the general manager — is welcoming to families.

Planning Notes

  • Reserve a duck weekend. The Renaissance has a package deal for families of four that includes a 2-night stay, breakfast, and tickets for four on the London Duck, for a greatly discounted price.
  • Give your Marriott Award number. Though uniquely English, the hotel is owned by Marriott and you can receive award points for staying here.
  • Visit the marble staircase. You may be tempted to take the elevator but the staircase, which looks like stilton cheese, is seven flights of solid marble and insured for more than $50 million! Older kids will appreciate that "The Bourne Ultimatum" has a scene filmed in the CC Bar (which is now called the Pearl).
