La Posada Jungle Bungalows Description
Many of the hotels in Manuel Antonio are not on the beach itself but high on the bluff above, which makes for an enormous hassle when you're trying to get back and forth to the beach with small children, beach mats, towels, and swim bags, not to mention surfboards or boogie boards. La Posada is the only lodge right next to Manuel Antonio Park itself, which means it's a quiet-inducing distance from the lively town nightlife and you have monkeys, sloths, and other fun critters popping by your room at night. The rooms are decorated in a fun, tiki-bar style (the kids will like the big fish heads poking out of the walls) and the pool has great toddler-safe steps down into the water. The coastal location also makes it easy to find great food everyone will eat, since the beach hamlet of Manuel Antonio has some great seafood restaurants, one of which serves fresh grilled catch of the day right on the sand.
Planning Notes
- Money matters. The four palm-thatched bungalows are a great deal for families even in high season, sleeping up to four, with a full breakfast included. And they're air-conditioned — a rarity in budget Costa Rica lodges. Because La Posada is small and increasingly popular, book ahead in high season (November - March).
