Vail Cascade Resort and Spa Description
The Vail Cascade Resort and Spa -- a sprawling property pushed up against the foot of the mountain -- allows you to corral all of your pre- and post-ski time into one place, saving you the headache of getting here and there. To start, the location itself makes getting to the mountain effortless (basically, you just step outside). With Vail being the largest ski resort in the nation, you can ski yourselves silly all day. When you're ready to relax -- but your antsy kids refuse to exhibit any signs of fatigue -- let them enjoy the hotel's three pools (accompanied by a pair of sundecks). The resort also has ball courts, hot tubs, a sauna, tennis, and even shopping, and then, of course, there's the spa.

Planning Notes
- The pools are heated, but are outside. If you see yourself lounging in an indoor pool after a day at the slopes, this may not be the place for you.
- Save some dough. Go online to check out their range of special packages, which might save you money.
- Space to roam. The resort has private residences that tend to be significantly larger than the hotel rooms (some even have five bedrooms). They can be rented, and are ideal for larger groups.
- Romper room available. The resort offers a nursery for kids ages 6 months to 8 years old and features arts, crafts, music, and puzzles. The minimum stay is one hour, and the maximum stay is two hours.
- Dine in. The resort also offers restaurants -- an upscale steakhouse and a casual grill.
