Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain Description

Elegance without pretention, class without snobbery, this gorgeous hotel boasts fabulous views of the city and a convenient location within the network of Montreal's Underground City. The half-moon bay windows and tasteful furnishings may tempt you to stay inside and watch the city from afar, but when you exit the hotel you are right in the heart of it—close to shopping, museums, and downtown.

Planning Notes

  • Cribs, cots, and refrigerators available. All are complimentary. Just ask at the front desk.
  • Lifeguards on duty. Lifeguards keep watch over swimmers, but children younger than 12 must be accompanied in the pool area by an adult at all times.
  • Babysitting services available. With at least five hours of advance notice, you can have a qualified babysitter watch your children for $15 per hour plus $20 for a taxi if you return to the hotel after 11 p.m. An extra charge of 5 percent applies if you pay with a credit card.
  • Free tickets to> La Ronde. If you reserve a room before the end of June for a summer visit, the price includes four tickets to La Ronde.
  • Ask for a high room. To get the best views of the city, request a room on the 23rd floor or above. Rooms on floors 29 and higher are more expensive and include "concierge service," with breakfast, hors d'oevres, and desserts, as well as computers and a personal concierge to answer questions.
