La Costa Hotel Description
This spacious resort is a little more than half an hour north of downtown San Diego, but close to LegoLand, Sea World, and Old Town. It boasts two golf courses, a gym, spa, restaurant, and Deepak Chopra Center for Well-Being. Better yet, it has a gym just for kids and water slides.
Planning Notes
- Reserve space at Kidtopia. An on-site childcare center, Kidtopia, is available in the main building. Kids have fun and parents get some alone time. The resort recommends reservations to ensure space.
- Eat out. The restaurant is quite good and has a kids' menu, but is pricey (a hot dog costs $9). As an alternative, go to Wahoo's Fish Taco, which is right nearby. It's delicious and inexpensive.
- Bring bathing suits. The resort has a pool and hot tub for adults, a beach-like kids' pool with a gradual slope and real sand, and three water slides.
