Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa Description

The amenities at this comfortable yet high-end resort make it easy for families to spend days here without ever thinking of leaving the resort grounds. Parents will appreciate the resort's three restaurants, 27-hole golf course, 25 tennis courts, fitness center, and full-service spa and salon, but kids will focus on only one thing: Splashtopia, the resort's miniature water park, complete with a lazy river, two water slides, and a zero-entry sandy beach.

Planning Notes

  • Book well in advance. The resort fills with families during school breaks and peak holiday weekends, so plan ahead.
  • Nearly all standard rooms. Although the hotel does have 22 suites, the vast majority of accommodations are standard hotel rooms.
  • Ask for a pool-side room. Avoid crossing through the parking lot and make the walk to Splashtopia shorter by asking for a room near the children's pool area.
  • Plan for camp. Reservations for Kidtopia, the resort's kids' camp, must be made at least 24 hours in advance; ask about availability during peak times when making room reservations.
  • Reserve a cabana. Stake out some poolside shade by reserving a private cabana. Call ahead for availability and fees.
