Best Western Monterey Beach Resort Description
A group of families I know stays here every year for their annual aquarium weekend, and now I know why -- it has all the essential family features for a reasonable price, and is the only hotel close to the aquarium with a long sandy beach. A recent renovation made a great place even better; all rooms now have refrigerators, wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, and a deck with Adirondack-style lounge chairs. There's a large pool that really is heated, and a hot tub, and the soft sand beach in front of the hotel is clean and well-lit at night for evening strolls. Two big plusses are the easy parking for a nominal $10 charge, and special packages that include aquarium passes in the room price. Even if you don't have a package, you can buy your aquarium passes right at the hotel.

- There are two Best Westerns in Monterey, so make sure you ask for the beach resort when you book. Pets are allowed in some rooms, so if you want to bring the family dog, let them know when you book..
