Disneyland Hotel Description
For an up-to-date, all-out theme, most people head to the truly grand Grand Californian. But for pure nostalgia, you can't beat the Disneyland® Hotel. Adults who've stayed here will be transported back to their childhoods, when Disneyland® was in its infancy and a man named Walt hosted his own TV show on Sunday nights. Updates and new amenities aside, the place is much as it was -- save for the splashy new Neverland pool that parents will wish they had as kids.

Kid Tips
School-Age Kids: Mornings might go a little more smoothly with a phone call from Mickey himself, part of the hotel's wakeup service.
Planning Notes
- Get some perspective. If you want a good view of the resort area (including Downtown Disney), request an east-facing room in the Dreams Tower on floor seven or higher.
- New vs. Old. The hotel is admittedly a little dated, which may be charming for some, too nostalgic for others. For the ultra-modern experience, the Grand Californian's the spot.

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel
By yayubetcha6894 January 03, 2010 | Daughter: Age 18
What we loved:
The extra little Disney touches everywhere!
What we didn't love:
It can be a bit of a walk to the Park when youre tired.
My daughter and I have stayed at the Disneyland hotel twice. We both loved the surprise of Tinkerbells pixie dust when we turned the lights out. The attendants were all so professional and yet familial in their attitudes toward us; as though we were the most important guests. Theres Goofys Kitchen for the full Character Dining experience; and a little Coffee House for a simpler breakfast. br/We ordered gift baskets to be delivered to our room upon arrival. These superceded our expectations, even for Disney! The large fruit was amazingly fresh and extremely tasty. br/Room service was always thorough. Seven years ago, on our first trip, my Daughter had a new Build-a-Bear, and also purchased a tiny doll bed for her. When we came back from our breakfast the next morning, Room Service had already tended to our room, and was complete in making up the Bears bed as well. My Daughter was beyond thrilled at this attention.br/At Registration, we told them it was our first stay, and although Vacation Planning Services was very helpful in planning small details of our trip, Registration also stepped up to offer even more great Trip Tips and ideas. br/I strongly recommend staying at the Disneyland Hotel for your first Resort hotel stay. The little touches, the Disney magic, all make it worth while! Read More
