Fernwood Resort and Cabins Description
This classic collection of paneled riverside cabins harkens back to family fishing trips of yesteryear. Kids go crazy when they see the resort's private river beach, which has a deep swimming hole with a rope swing over the river to add good old fashioned thrills. With a campground, motel, tent cabins and regular cabins, there are lots of options here, and lots of kids. Mine immediately joined a crowd tubing down the river and I could barely get them in for dinner!
Planning Notes
- New rooms available. The cabins vary in age from the orginal group to some that are brand new. The newest cabins are furthest back alongside a peaceful meadow, so ask for one of those if possible.
- Money matters. For those on a tight budget, there are tent cabins for one third the price of the wooden cabins.
- Location, location. The motel and bar up on the road are a tad "rustic roadhouse" and the live music events on Friday and Saturday nights can get rowdy, so choose one of the cabins down below on the river for family-friendliness and privacy.
