Phantom Ranch Description
Nestled at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Phantom Ranch is a cozy campground next to Bright Angel Creek, offering lots of camping, fishing, and hiking. Despite the fact it can only be reached by mule, foot, or raft, the ranch is an extremely popular destination. The wood cabins are great for families, though there are dormitories for backpackers in the main lodge, each with 10 bunks and a shower. Cabin accommodations are included with the overnight mule trips. For rustic grub, check out the Phantom Ranch Canteen (meals need to be reserved in advance unless you book a mule trip package).
Planning Notes
- Book early. Phantom Ranch is small and the only major accommodation in the area; they take reservations up to 13 months in advance.
