Spotting its cartoonish sign and giant playground from the street, kids start squealing to stop at Not Licked Yet before they even know the place serves frozen custard. And not just any custard: this is the old-fashioned kind, made from fresh local ingredients. Have a basic cone, order a special sundae off the menu (the Door County Sundae is to die for), or create your own treat by mixing and matching flavors and toppings. Plenty of outdoor seating and a wooded, creek-side location tucked away from traffic makes a stop here a very tasty little getaway.
Kid Tips
Toddlers & Pre-K: The playground can be a little much for very small children, especially when it's crowded. Be prepared to hover or distract young kids.
School-Age Kids: Kids this age go crazy for the SpongeBob Sundae, a gooey concoction of Rice Krispies, chocolate custard, and marshmallow.
Planning Notes
- Prepare for lines. Not Licked Yet has a rather famous reputation, which can equal long lines. Be prepared for a little waiting.
- Bring the bug spray. The shop's location on Fish Creek can lead to a buggy experience, especially in the evening.
