This comfortable, airy cafe with pressed tin ceilings has a grab-and-go case filled with drinks, cheeses, and hummus. Everything on the menu is less than $10. Their tasty grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup are hits with the younger set, as are the scrumptious made-from-scratch desserts.
Planning Notes
- Call ahead for take-out. They'll custom-make sandwiches that you can enjoy while exploring the area.
- Grab a wedge of cheese. They feature 10 carefully selected artisan Wisconsin cheeses in the cold case.
- Try the coffee. It's freshly roasted in the building and goes well with the fabulous desserts (kids love the flourless chocolate tort and cheesecake with fresh berries).
- Snag a seat. If you see an open table, grab it. Seating is limited.
- Sensible portions. Servings are small (perfect for little ones), but especially hungry adults may want to order a couple of dishes instead of just one.
