Ethel's at 250 Description
A locally owned, spacious restaurant with a small outdoor patio that has a view of Lake Superior, Ethel's at 250 (named after co-owner Sally Heytens' grandmother) serves up the best pizza in town (and a lot of other dishes). The walls are decorated with local artist Bob Holton's exquisite renderings of early-20th century Bayfield.
Planning Notes
- Call ahead for priority seating. They don't take reservations, but do allow large parties to call ahead to add their name to the waiting list.
- Try the whitefish liver. It's a local specialty, and can be ordered on pizza, in Alfredo pasta, or ask for their secret house-specialty dish (sauteed with onions and peppers -- it isn't on the menu, but they'll know what you mean as soon as you ask for it).
- They deliver anywhere in Bayfield. If you want to eat in, they deliver to hotels, condominiums, or even boats on the marina.
- Dinner only. They do not serve breakfast or lunch.
- Friendly owners. Co-owners Bill and Sally Heytens make it a point to be in the restaurant every night, and enjoy sharing stories and their "life is to be enjoyed" philosophy with visitors.
