Woody's Beach BBQ Description
It doesn't get more casual than this: Woody's operates out of a trailer in a gravel parking lot. Low on formality but high on taste, Woody's keeps it simple in the kitchen, too, by offering a limited menu of lip-licking barbeque options. The Signature Sandwich will be an instant favorite of teens and adults, while younger kids will covet the sides and sweets: baked beans, hand-cut fries, gingered applesauce, and cornbread. Wash it down with the Emerson Tailor, a mix of their freshly-brewed sweet tea and lemonade.
Planning Notes
- Take-out only. Diners who can't wait to get home to dig in can stand and eat next to one of the tall tables -- no chairs are available.
- Don't skip dessert. Even the sweet treats are delicious, particularly the Lovely Luscious Layered Lime Cup (a mix of key lime cream and graham cracker crumbs).
- Picnic in the park. Woody's is adjacent to the entrance of the Maddox Family Campground and park. Pick up your meal, then settle in for a picnic at one of the many tables.
- Bathrooms nearby. Woody's has no restroom facilities. If the need arises, walk to the far end of the campground welcome center (past the swings and close to the RV parking area) for full-service restrooms.
- Ask for extra napkins. As you'd expect, a Woody's meal is a delectably messy affair.
- A more formal option. Bill's Seafood (4040 Main St. in Chincoteague) serves delicious seafood, pasta, steak, and chicken entrees (the Seafood Platter is fantastic), plus breakfast and lunch.
