Laughing Moon Chocolates Description

You can watch Leigh Williams making her chocolates every day, but it's the hands-on workshops that will have you licking your fingers as well as your lips. Kids as young as 5 have participated in the in-store cooking workshops, where you can learn how to make everything from dipped fruit to chocolate truffles. Classes are seasonal and not inexpensive, but if your kids (particularly tweens/teens) are interested in cooking, it could be a memorable experience with benefits for the whole family: You take home everything you make.

Kid Tips

School-Age Kids: Kids as young as 5 have taken the three-hour course, but the one-hour option is likely a better fit for youngsters. Pack a change of clothes (all that dipping is messy work) and head out to Stowe Playground (down the road in the village) after the class to let them burn off the sugar high.

Planning Notes

Don't let the chocolates melt! If you're taking a workshop, consider that you'll need to make a trip back to your hotel to store your score before carrying on with the day's activities.

The early bird gets the best view. Daily dipping demonstrations occur every day at 2 p.m. The store is small and the demos are popular (free samples!), so get there early to secure a spot up front. On weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas the store adds candy cane-making demos to the mix.
