Red Iguana Description
Don't be dismayed when you walk into this restaurant—the food is so palate-pleasing, it makes up for the lack of ambience. Locally owned by the Cardenas family, the Red Iguana makes seven kinds of molé from scratch daily that are used to season a variety of out-of-this-world meat and vegetable dishes. For dessert, try the scrumptuous tres leches cake, which is made with goat, sheep, and cow's milk.
Planning Notes
- Ask for the molé sampler. A complimentary plate of all seven molé sauces and chips will be brought to your table before you order, but you have to ask for it.
- Generous portions. Instead of ordering off the kids menu, consider having your kids split a dish off the regular menu.
