The Oasis Description
Live music on the weekends -- when everyone hits the dance floor, and a typical sight is a dad dancing with his daughter -- is what makes this restaurant a must. Great Tex-Mex food and a stellar view are just the bonuses.
Planning Notes
- Be an early bird. Reservations are not accepted; come by 5 p.m. if you don't want to wait for a table. That way, you'll also be able to enjoy the sunset over Lake Travis.
- Schedule accordingly. Live music nights starts at 7 most weekend nights. Check the website for details.
- Get shady. Another great family-friendly music/food venue: The Shady Grove (theshadygrove.com).

What we loved:
Great food
There's food, so you want to be careful about how young the kids you bring are. While it's a family place and warm environment, I'd think twice about bringing one under five. The older ones will have a great time. There's usually a good musical act, so catch that if youcan.Read More
