Plain and Fancy Restaurant and Farm Description

When you're given the choice between ordering the Amish Farm Feast or off the menu, go for the feast. You'll be seated at a table with people you don't know, but that makes it more fun to pass around the heaping platters of fried chicken, ham, turkey, buttered noodles, green beans, and so much more that will come your way. Save room for dessert -- your kids will love the apple and shoo-fly pies topped with ice cream and whipped cream.

Planning Notes

  • Shop 'til you drop. Enter and exit the restaurant through an expansive gift shop filled with Amish crafts, food, and souvenirs.
  • Reservations recommended for groups of 8 or more. Parties of 7 or fewer can use the call-ahead service to reduce their wait times.
  • Lunch is less crowded than dinner. But not by much, since the restaurant is part of an attraction that includes shopping, buggy rides, and the Amish Experience, a multi-media look at Amish life.
  • Credit cards welcome. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.
  • Sing before your supper. On occasion, the restaurant has live music in the wait area and kids are invited to play along with a collection of instruments -- tambourine, triangle, cow bell -- that are available. Call ahead for entertainment times.
