Blue Scorcher Bakery Café Description
With brightly colored walls, high ceilings, and a great choice of all-organic (and mostly local) vegetarian and vegan options, the Blue Scorcher is a friendly, healthy place to eat. Little ones will get cozy in the kids' corner (filled with books, a pint-sized couch, banjos to play, and couches to lounge on), and everyone will say the pastries are to die for (part of the café's motto).
Planning Notes
- Be leisurely. Orders are taken at the counter and food is brought to each table. It is not a hustle-and-bustle place, though, so expect a wait for the delicious eats.
- Homemade by Mom. Café co-owner Iris Sullivan is a trained pastry chef (and mom of two boys) and all the bread and pastries (including the unexpectedly delightful cardamom almond roll) are made on the premises.
- Next to Fort Astoria Park. Kids can get the ants out of their pants at the small park (with a great climbing tree) behind the café.
