In the heart of downtown Astoria, T. Paul's Urban Café combines an extensive menu of delectable dishes with a charming, small interior that has modern art on the walls and a large fishtank in the back. The Oregon fusion cuisine is fresh and nicely presented, the service is upscale, and kids feel welcome.
Planning Notes
- Walk to the Flavel House. The Victorian era landmark is a few blocks away from the restaurant (as is a great toy store Purple Cow Toys).
- Ask for a table in the back. This quaint café with framed mirrors on the wall and a piano in front has a homey back room that is less crowded and more family oriented (and good for large parties).
- Call ahead. They don't take reservations, but priority seating is given if diners call in advance.
- Lunch is the busiest mealtime. The café gets packed between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on weekdays, so either avoid going then or call ahead for priority seating.
