Ted Drewes Frozen Custard Description
Parents love the original Ted Drewes for its Route 66 nostalgia, but kids get a kick out of the signature "concretes," shakes so thick that servers hand them to you upside down (get them packed with everything from peaches to M&Ms). Clusters of teens and families gathering outside the roadside stand make this a fun social scene for all ages.
Planning Notes
- Be prepared to wait. Lines, especially on weekend evenings and in summer, are constant, but a cheerful spirit of goodwill prevails.
- Order "minis" for the kids. The concretes are very rich and most kids under age 8 can't finish the regular size.
- Take the teens at night. They'll love checking out all the local kids that hang out here.
