Fritz's Railroad Restaurant Description
Parents quickly discover that the food (although tasty) isn't the main attraction at Fritz's, where it's all in the delivery. First, you place your order via one of the telephones at your booth, and then everyone waits excitedly to see if the train traveling on tracks that run at ceiling height is bound for your family's booth, which dramatically drops onto a platform that slowly lowers the greasy spoon fare (like the "Gen Dare" -- a burger topped with hash browns, onions, and cheese) to your table.
Planning Notes
- Try off-hours. The lines can be long at Fritz's, but eating an hour before or after the lunch rush usually nets you a table right away.
- Free parking. Parking is free for the first three hours of your visit to Crown Center.
- More than one. In addition to the newer Crown Center location, the original Fritz's is located on the Kansas side of town.
