White River Fish House Description
Perched over Lake Taneycomo, the White River Fish House is faux fish camp fun -- the décor includes collections of reels, rods, and flies; the menu focuses on fresh fish, from walleye to trout to more exotic catches, plus beef, chicken, and salads. The kids' menu is quite grown up, offering smaller portions of some of the more popular menu items, including crab cakes.
Planning Notes
- Packed at lunch and dinner. Waits can be as long as 45 minutes, so arrive just after peak times for more immediate seating. There's not a lot of standing room while waiting, but the pro shop just up the stairs is a fun place to browse.
- Fish food. The walkway around the restaurant features a few seats, as well as bubble gum-type machines filled with fish food; a few extra quarters can go a long way while waiting for a table.
