The Antlers Restaurant Gift Shop Description
Sure, they offer a decent children's menu (burgers, fries, chicken, etc), plus delicious regional fare for grown-ups, including several versions of whitefish. However, its unique d‚cor is what makes it famous among locals. The restaurant looks like a mad taxidermist's shop, with "stuffed" animals covering every square foot of the room, including antlers (of course), an enormous stuffed polar bear, and quirkier displays like a two-headed calf and a furry fish.
Planning Notes
- Not for claustrophobes. There's stuff everywhere, hanging from the ceilings and walls. And since most of that stuff is dead animals, you may not want to bring your vegetarian animal activist!
- It can be loud. Every so often the restaurant fills with clangs, whistles, and flashing lights, which might scare a younger child.
- It's busy. To avoid the lunch or dinner rush, go late in the afternoon but before dinner.
