La Parrilla Description

Locals and tourists rub shoulders at this charming Mexican restaurant in downtown Cancun. The nightly live music draws crowds, as does the moderately priced menu. The décor, the elaborately colored ceramic tiles, enormous potted plants and hostesses dressed in traditional garb, and delicious food make La Parrilla a cultural culinary experience your family won't want to miss.

Planning Notes

  • Plan a late(r than usual) night. Live music starts at 8 p.m. Go earlier to eat before it gets too noisy but don't leave before you get a listen to the Mariachi band.
  • Try the margaritas. Order a tamarind- or mango-flavored virgin margarita for the kids—served in a plastic tube glass that's as fun as the drink itself.

Just the Facts
