Mermaids Cafe Description
An informal walk-up cafe where you order at the window and sit outside (or on stools under an awning when it rains), Mermaids Cafe serves healthy, delicious, pan-Asian food with fresh ingredients and local fruits and vegetables. Watch the chef sizzle up your meal to the sound of island and reggae music in the background.
Planning Notes
- Expect big portions. There's no keiki (kids') menu but the portions are big enough to split into two, or even three.
- Try the hibiscus lemonade. Tart and sweet, a Kauai speciality.
- If you want more of a sit-down, indoor experience. There is an Italian family restaurant, Pizzetta , right across the street (it's a bit pricey and caters almost exclusively to tourists), or you can try the nearby local and much loved hotspot, Ohana Family Diner, 4-971 Kuhio Hwy # F. 808-821-2498.
