Huggo's on The Rocks Description
"The mini burgers were SO good," said one 8-year-old after devouring three manini (Hawaiian for small) burgers and some homemade potato chips. Huggo's On The Rocks, which is next door to the better-known and long-established fine dining Huggo's itself, is a toes-in-the-sand, casual, food-served-in-Chinese-bamboo-steamers, ocean front place to take the whole family.
Planning Notes
- Go early for dinner. There's nightly entertainment that begins at 6:30 p.m. which you might want to catch part of but the crowd gets decidedly rowdier and less family-oriented the later you stay.
- Try the catch of the day. Fresh fish is served with a scoop of rice and a green salad.
- If you want something fancier. The orginal Huggo's serves dinner only. Think reservations, subtle lighting, coral arrangements, miniature bromeliades on the tables, and delectable exotic fare like fern shoots, lobster cakes, and slow-roasted lamb shank.
