What we loved:
The decor is attractive
What we didn't love:
The food from start to finish was horrible
My sister, niece, and I had dinner reservations for Nine Dragons Epcot on Nov. 3rd 2010 at 8:00 pm EDT. I had no idea what to expect as I had never been to this restaurant before. We had been out at the parks all day and were very hungry looking forward to a good dinner. For starters, we ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Egg Rolls appetizer advertised as follows: tender shrimp, roast chicken and fresh vegetables served with plum-chili and ginger-soy sauces $7.98 Much to our disappointment, the egg roll filling contained "1" tiny shrimp and all dark slimy we think chicken meat that was "barely" edible - no vegetables. Needless to say we ate only the egg roll shell itself but left all the filling uneaten. That was our first indication that this dinner may become a disappointment but we kept up our optimisim. Next came the dinner. We all ordered the same dinner: Sweet and Sour Pork with lightly spiced spinach noodles $16.98 What was served was three large bowls containing green spinach noodles with bright orange glazed balls containing we think pork. Although the "presentation" was "passable", we decided to dig in and eat as, after all, we are very hungry. Well, that was a big mistake....the noodles had a smell stench of an attic that had not been visited in 50 years and the "pork" not edible. The combination frankly started to make me feel nauseated and I was unable to get passed one bite of food. My niece and sister were in the same boat and none of us could get passed a couple of bites - in spite of how hungry we all were. I explained to the waitress that we could not eat the food and she offered to bring us something else to which we said - NO THANKS! Normally Im quite assertive when it comes to my rights but, unfortunately, I was tired after a long week and we had a disney gift card and paid a whopping $80.00 in total for a dinner we did NOT eat that included the tip. They gave a slight discount as we were extremely unhappy with the food. In retrospect, Im kicking myself for giving the restaurant any money at all except for the tip deserved by the waitress for her trouble. Please spare yourselves the trouble and time of going to Nine Dragons at Epcot - it is NOT WORTH IT. Save your money for another better restaurant as Im sure you will be quite disappointed just as we were. Read More
