Columbia Restaurant Description
A visit to Tampa wouldn't be complete without a meal at The Columbia, Florida's oldest restaurant, located in a historic Ybor City building with lovely architectural details. Eat the traditional Spanish way by sampling tapas or order an entree -- either way, it'll be an experience the family will never forget.
Planning Notes
- Go for lunch. The restaurant is much less crowded and the entrees less expensive during lunch service.
- Reservations recommended. They're required for weekend dinners, but reservations are a good idea for dinner during the week as well.
- Stay for the Flamenco. Complete the feel of being transported to Spain by staying for a Flamenco performance (two dinner shows Friday and Saturday, one dinner show Monday through Thursday). Request a table away from the stage, however -- the foot stomping is quite loud. (Extra $6 fee per person.)
- More to see. Stop in the gift shop between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. weekdays to watch professional cigar rollers do the work that made Ybor City thrive in the early 1900s.
