Pizzeria Paradiso Description
Considered to be one of the best restaurants in D.C. and true to its Italian name, this paradise-like pizzeria will not disappoint you. My kids call the stone oven-baked pizza "bubble pizza" because of its light airy crust, which, being the best part, they save for last. Offered in 8- and 12-inch sizes, the 8-inch is more than enough for one kid. There's a variety of suggested pizzas, the simplest being the Paradiso with fresh tomato and mozzarella. Or, you can make your own with any of more than twenty-five toppings. For non-pizza eaters, there are delicious fresh salads or sandwiches. And for the over 21 crowd, this restaurant boasts an excellent beer menu. Try to get a seat by the large street-front windows as it's a great location for people-watching. Kid Tips
Babies: This restaurant is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible. The service is fast and the staff is kid-friendly. There are high chairs, booster seats, and a changing table in the bathroom.
School-Age Kids: While younger kids might want to watch the pizza baking in the huge oven in back, teens will be more interested in the action on the street.
Planning Notes
- Be wary of crowds. Because of its popularlity, this restaurant gets very crowded and wait times can be long. Try to go early for lunch or dinner, especially in the busy summer months.
