Don't be put off by the line hovering out the door, the friendly, efficient staff at Walnut Avenue Café won't let you wait too long. And the generous meals plated up at this local favorite are worth the wait, whether the kids are begging for waffles or you're craving a healthy omelette. The French toast topped with fried bananas is as fabulous as all the four and five-star reviews say it is. For lunch, you can't go wrong -- the soups, salads, sandwiches are all fresh and creative and the formal entrees, while a bit pricier, are often an interesting hybrid of California and Asian flavors.
