Everyone seems to know everyone else at Fandango; the atmosphere is like crashing a big Italian birthday party straight out of "The Sopranos." My daughters loved the attention from the jovial waiters and friendly owner Marietta Bains, who checks on each party personally. The Mediterranean-inspired food is just adventurous enough. "What are sand dabs?!" was quickly followed by "yum! Can we have these at home?" Other favorites were French onion soup, Caprese salad, and griled chicken breast served with carrots and dill. Save room for desserts; the profiteroles were perfectly poofy and the souffle was an outstanding introduction to a European-style delicacy most American kids don't get the try.
