Goofy's Kitchen Description

It's not hard to imagine what kids love about dining here. Apart from its animated ambience -- the restaurant looks like it came straight out of a cartoon -- the dining room is presided over by the big dog and pals, who, well, goof around while posing for pictures and signing autographs. All that, and, you get a buffet that includes mounds of grownup fare, plus Mickey waffles and peanut butter and jelly pizza. Conveniently located in the Disneyland Hotel.

Kid Tips

Babies: Lots of kids get overwhelmed and shy at the sight of the big, fuzzy characters. For them, the kinder, gentler experience might be at Ariel's Grotto (California Adventure) where the stars are princesses.

Pre-Teens & Teens: It might surprise folks, but too-cool teens and preteens love this stuff, especially girls.

Planning Notes

  • Make reservations ahead of time. Disney takes reservations as much as 60 days out. This is particularly smart when planning for a character breakfast.
  • No reservation? Stop by the restaurant to see if there are any "walk-in" openings.
  • Be prepared to wait. Seatings are "preferred" times rather than actual reservations, meaning you might have to wait a while even after your scheduled arrival time.

What we loved:
Fun all around for the kids to focus on while the parents can relax

What we didn't love:
a little noisy perhaps

Even though my kids are not drawn to meeting the characters like many other kids are, they still loved our breakfast at Goofys Kitchen. The food options are amazing and there is so much going on all around you. At one point my kids were in a conga line of some sort as one of the characters led a dance routine through the buffet. Tons of fun and worth the money. Read More
