Favorite Vacation Moment
Badlands and Black Hills, SD
Those are some big heads!
by nejomommy March 17, 2008
One of my favorite vacation moments was when we took our 2 boys, then ages 5 and 4 on an RV trip. We drove through South Dakota and stopped at Mount Rushmore. They were so thrilled to see presidents on the side of a mountain. We walked all arond the faces, getting to see different views. My boys loved it when Dad pretended to pick Lincoln's nose fom a distance. My older son Nathan got to become a junior park ranger there. He even got a ranger badge. Both Nathan and my younger son Jacob memorized the names of the presidents in order, left to right. They made sure that everyone they talked to knew who the presidents on "Mount Rush Mower" are. Four years later they still talk about that trip and seeing those big heads carved in the mountain. They still laugh about Dad picking Abraham Lincoln's nose too.
