How far does the ocean go?

After a very sad separation from my wife, I was able to take my 2 year old son on our first vacation as "Daddy and Me". We decided to go to Puerto Rico to visit my parents for a few days so that he could see where daddy spent alot of his youth. One day we set off to a beach that I had not been to in about 30+ years (last visit was at about my sons age). We played a while and then my mother decided to tend to him as I went to the car to get his towel. I turned to towards them as they stood in the water, to my sons knees, staring at the oceans horizon and overheard this conversation between them:
he said "Mamita how far does the ocean go?"
she said "It goes farther than you can see"
he said "oh, thats far"
she picked him up and said" I've missed you and I love you"
he spread his arms wide and said" I love you THIS much"
she put him back down and spread her arms wider and said "I love youTHIS much"
and then he responded as he pointed at the horizon and said" I love you to the end of the ocean"

Needless to say, my eyes welled up (let alone my mothers). I realized that vacations are not just for relaxing or "getting away", they are also for moments like this. Moments that become precious memories for a family. I hope that every family gets to walk away from every vacation with a few tears of pure joy and love like I did.
