The year of our magical dreams

In October 2003, we decided to go to Disney World Orlando for the first time. I was nervous about taking Markie (who was only one at the time). We weren't sure if he was too young, and if we should wait another year so he will remember the trip. We decided to take our chances since his sister, Victoria was 4 and at the perfect age. Our first day at Magic Kingdom, Mickey Mouse came from behind Markie's stroller and started touching him. I wasn't sure how Markie would react. He looked slightly confused, then started touching Mickey. He then smiled, put his arms out for Mickey to hug him. They interacted for about 10-15 mins. and Mickey moved on. So did we, with 2 extremely happy children. That evening, we went to bed and about 3 hours into our sleep, I heard a noise coming from Markie's bed. I turned the light on and there was Markie, sound asleep with a giant smile on his face and he was actually clapping his hands as he slept! This was the best moment! We had a 1 yr old who didn't quite communicate well yet but he showed us that he had the best day ever! I know we made the right decision to take him. There's no doubt in our minds that he remembers that trip!
