Mary, on vacation
I spent last year in Afghanistan, but before I deployed, I took my kids on the classic American road vacation. We drove out to New Mexico and camped in a state park. We had lots of time to talk about the year I'd miss, what they'd miss about me being gone, and spend close time together.
