Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's off to Carlsbad Caverns We Go!!!

Our boys being boys in the cave at Carlsbad Caverns.
Carlsbad Caverns was the absolute best getaway for our family of 5. It was a great place to take kids that range in age from 2 to 8. We discovered from this trip that our kids love to be outdoors and that is what made this the best vacation ever. We stayed at a motel at the bottom of the Caverns entry that had 2 outdoor water slides, a pirate ship area for little kids to play on in the water, and a swimming pool. The hotel wasn't the best, but it was fine for our family since we mainly only went inside to sleep.
Our favorite moment was seeing our kids expressions as we entered the cave. They were kind of scared and nervous at first when they saw how dark and deep the cave was, but once we started down the path, they were getting more and more excited.
We did learn that it wasn't the best for our 2 year old. We have memories that will last a life time of my husband grabbing our 2 year old and walking down the caverns as fast as he could to get to the bottom since he was scared of heights and was so nervous about Anson, 2, falling off the side.
This picture truly does represent how our kids felt throughout the walk down the caverns. They had a blast. We still talk about this vacation because we all had so many feelings and the excitement of doing something we had never done before. We would love to go back now that we know where to stay and since we know how much fun our kids would have.
