Our Day Trip Vacations

by mokinz1 March 12, 2008

Our First Concert Together Hannah Montana

The last time I took a vacation with my family for a week was several years ago. I believe my parents actually paid for the vacation too. My husband and I can't afford much. I am a stay at home mom. And my husband is a teacher. We went to Wildwood, NJ and stayed about 2 blocks away from the beach. It was a run down Motel. I have to admit we made the best of things. I had a toddler in diapers and a 3 month old daughter. The toddler loved the beach. She would walk non stop if we would have let her. She loved chasing the seagulls too. I have all of it on video. Even when my 3 month old got a hold of a beach ball and started wacking my mother over the head with it. Yes she was about that. And yes we do have it on video. It was funny. I just don't think my mother saw it that way. We packed lunches for the beach and cooked in the motel for dinner. It probably was one of the most inexpensive vacations anyone could ever imagine. But again we had a good time.

When my daughters got older we did get to take her to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and Princesses Skating on Ice. They both were excellent. I just have to add that one day my older daughter had a lollipop and threw the wrapper on the ground. I told her not to do that and pick it up. She asked Why? I said a policeman will give you a ticket. She immediately threw the wrapper back on the ground and said extremely excited "Mommy, will he give us a ticket to see the Princesses skating on Ice?" I guess she really enjoyed the show too.

See we don't get to take vacations and little day trips here and there are our vacations and we do get satisfaction from them. Especially when you see the enthusiasm on their faces.

Another Day trip which was way past our budget. But again was well worth it. We surprised the girls and took them to their first concert. A Hannah Montana concert. This was our vacation. We went at the end of December and it is now the beginning of March. They still have grins on their faces. I thought maybe they would be too young for a concert. Well they both floored me. They knew every single lyric to her songs. They are now 5 1/2 and 7. This was worth every penny. They still blare all of her music from the time they get home from school to the time they go to bed. But then again they did this before the concert. I guess that is how they knew every single lyric.

I would love to win this vacation for them. And yes it is for my husband and myself as well. We love to see our daughters faces light up. We lost our first daughter a little over an hour after birth. And my husband and myself vowed that we would do everything in our power to make our future children happy. That is why I stay home with them. I feel life is too short and I don't want to miss out on anything with them while they are still young. I'm sure it will be the same as they get older too. They are my world and to be able to take them to something magical while they still believe would be a dream come true for all four of us.

Thank you.

And anything Disney ROCKS!!!! If it is not obvious now I'll tell you. We love everything Disney. My husband and I always have.
