Favorite Vacation Moment

My family goes camping every summer. My grandmother and grandfather started it with their 7 children and they kept it going with their children. Now Im 37 and I take my children as do my cousins. My grandparents have 20 grand children and 32 great grandchildren. My grandfather passed away in january of 2003. That summer was the hardest summer. It was strange when we went camping because he wasnt there around the campfire. My grandmother looked so sad. We started telling stories about what he did in life that inspired us. Every story was about how he taught us all about the importance of family and family time together. Everyone agreed that what is really important in life is family. I learned this from my Grandparents and my parents also. My husband and I take small trips with our family every year. My favorite trip was with my whole family and we went canoing on the saco river in new hampshire there were 18 canoes and we tied them all together and my cousin had a small moter and pulled us for a couple of miles. We laughed and joked but most of all we told stories, just family stories. My grandmother told me it was one of the best vacations she has had in this lifetime. It was the best time of my life and a trip we took for 33 years every year. weather i win or loose it was great sharing this story. It brought back a great family memory. Thank You Gail Chamberlin
