Branson, Missouri - First Time Memories

Riding the Ducks

A couple of years ago my husband and I and our two daughters (both from a prior marriage) took the girls to Branson, Missouri for a long weekend trip. My daughter, 8 years old at the time, got to experience her first Branson experience. I had been been there many times before and so had my husband & his daughter. We got to stay at my boss's time-share which she thought was just awesome. We took her to see Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede (a dinner theatre w/live animals) because she just loves horses. We rode "The Ducks", old water/land vehicles from the war, and she was so surprised when the "duck" hit the lake! We spent one day at Silver Dollar City riding all the rides and enjoying all the good country foods. We played miniature golf and rode the go-karts and bumper boats, we sang Karioke at the resort, swam in the pools and hot tubs, had ice-cream and ate A LOT of food that weekend. She had such a good time and still remembers everything that we did and now she can't wait to go back. This was her 2nd time going on vacation in her whole life. She dreams of going to Walt Disney World and seeing the ocean for the first time. We are going to try and plan a trip this summer if we can afford it, but with today's economy it may not happen this year. She is 10 now and I would love to take her before she becomes a teenager. I was 13 when I went for the first time and I have a lot of cherished memories (I'm 38 now!).
